The Rice Fields of Kemang Island

I visited Kemang Island, a full sim with a large traffic flow that is dedicated to Nusantara culture, and was pleasantly surprised to find that it had a major rice field area, as well as several rice fields interspersed all around the sim.

The rez zone is near The Banyan Club, which appropriately enough is sheltered close to the overarching branches of a gigantic banyan tree. Across from the tree is a small field with newly-planted rice waving silently in the breeze.

The sim does have an area specifically set aside for plantings, and I walked over there to marvel at the row upon row of rice plants sunning themselves under the bright  mid-day sun.

Other things were being sunned as well, including some clothes on a clothesline, a quite typical sight in many tropical countries. Why waste energy on a clothes dryer when the sun will do it for free? hehe....

There was also a banana tree with bags of rice piled onto the cart of a bike standing empty below it, and several monkeys raced up and down the banana tree enjoying the ripe bananas.

To the ocean side there were more rows of rice....

...and near the ocean waters some food stalls with delicious tropical food!

I continued walking along the empty roadway, and soon came upon an overview with great views of a far off waterfall, and another couple of rice plots by the side of the road.

All the roads had Indo names on them, and I found another rice field close to a sign for one such road.

All in all I quite enjoyed my trip to Kemang Island, and even got to talk to the manager (and most likely sim owner) of the area, an Indo named ge (Getown Resident), though he said he lives in Germany because his mom's from that country. Seems like an OK guy, and I got to use my Bahasa Indonesia too.

My first banyan bonsai

I bought a large banyan tree to put near our home, but I found out there was just way too many other vegetation there already.

After some thought I decided to create a bonsai out of the tree, so I bought a bonsai pot as well as a table to sit the pot onto.

I then shrunk the tree until it could fit nicely into the whole setup, and placed it in front of our home.

It looked great, with the aerial roots dangling down and the rooted sub-trunks buried deep into the soft green earth of the pot.

Now the only problem is where to put the thing permanently, as I don't believe it meshes well with the front decor. Perhaps a bonsai room, with D/s and BDSM artwork gracing the walls?

Austin 8th Anniversary Week: Thursday Fashions!

I could not really attend most of the activities on Thursday, September 22.

I did manage to briefly drop by the fashion show organized by O-girl Sage Avedon (SageWisdom) and O-girl Fia (Fiammetta1981 Resident), but I was in and out.

The fashion show had Associate Io (Iolanthe Godenot) as the DJ, and Master Duke as the MC.

Models included:

O-girl Aisha Sohl
Amiata Carpathia
O-girl Belle (darlingbelle)
O-girl Fia (Fiammetta1981 Resident)

GIS laila (lelie Baxton)
Associate Naughty Glimmer
O-girl Orchid Zsun

Austin 8th Anniversary Week: Wonderfully Magic Wednesday

I could not attend Ratzu's discussion at 12 slt on September 21, but we did manage to drop into Fia's dance class an hour later, where some lovely ladies showed off their emoting capabilities, much to the delight of the people in attendance.

I have to admit what the girls do here is beyond my capabilities at the moment, but I'm hoping Linda and I can create some couple dance routine from all the stuff we learned in Fia's class.

Later that day I attended Meli's Magic show for about an hour, where she had placed covered boxes all around a skybox, the better to tantalize us with what secrets lie underneath.

Each box held a magic trick, and she was ably assisted by the lovely O-girl Aisha Sohl (aka. "poor Aisha!")

Obviously, I'm not gonna give out the secrets of the magic show, but it was a hell of a lot of fun, with everyone chiming in as the show progressed.

And finally later that night I attended a pony girl demonstration with Crux Maximus and O-girl Fia.

This was quite interesting to me, and Crux and Fia did an amazing job showing the fine control and coordination necessary to achieve the ballet of motions typical for dressage shows.

All in all, it was another fun-filled day at the Austin Anniversary celebration. My one regret is that Linda could not stay for most of the activities.

A Short Tour of Our Sailors Cove South Home

We've stayed at Sailors Cove South since February of 2015, and during all that time Linda has provided us with a warm, cozy and beautiful home.

We've created quite a number of skyboxes up top for various purposes (sandbox, game room, dungeon, etc), but I figure I'd give a tour of the the ground level of our home, which is where we typically meet and greet guests, and which is where the Linda Lou is normally docked and ready to sail off into the Blake Seas.

The first thing you'll notice at the dock is a wooden table with 3 rice plants sitting placidly on it in front of the stairs leading up to the living room. Yes, I know, three won't be enough to harvest and keep us alive for the zombie apocalypse, but these are more for good luck and prosperity than anything practical.

Ascending the first flight of stairs, you'll encounter some guard doggie that Linda likes. I believe it's a beagle, but sometimes I do miss Bagus, our pet lemur, who unfortunately has a ton of scripts running in him and thus is better left in inventory, aka. purgatory for SL items.

You go up another flight of stairs to get to the living room area, where we typically sit around with guests during parties.

Linda even set aside a drink bar with some macaw to guard the liquor (and yes, he does get drunk himself at times when no one is watching).

A bridge strung with bright lights leads to the other side of the property.

There you'll find a rope ladder, that goes up to...

...our nice comfy tree house.

This is where Linda and I usually cuddle when talking serious stuff...like, wth are those polar bears in Lost???!!!!

A stone path leads through the grass to the fourth part of the property.

It's a small dock with 4 chairs and a fireplace to one side, and this is where I usually invite couples or single people to sit and relax when we talk.

The table has some candles and also a lone rice plant in a sparkling dish filled with some water.

Spanning the property is an inner pool of water with cascading waterfall that Linda created.

I still vividly remember when I lost someone dear to me in RL and Linda comforted me as we cuddled by the running water in early 2015.

Above is the view from our backyard.

The area around the property is beautiful as well, a rainforest filled with plants and waterfalls and other natural wonders.

Well, there you have it. I hope you enjoyed this short tour of our home. Thank you for flying Air Monkey!

How to sit in the Cafe: A Primer for Aspiring Doms

I came inworld late at night and found RB surrounded by a bevy of admiring girls at Austin's Cafe.

When I plopped my big butt onto one of the chairs, I realized what a study in contrast we made.

So there you go, Aspiring Doms. Let this be a lesson to you. If you have it, flaunt it! Or at least take one shower everyday so you won't drive away the chicks.

The first time

The first time I ever sat at the Cafe with my girl two years ago.

We sat and embraced each other and talked for a long time.

I told her, "you know...i collared you from the very first day we met."

And that was the truth.
