The Hunt Color Coding System

After a bout of furious activity working on the Hunt project, we're happy to say it'll probably be released within the next week.

We also developed a rather interesting method of marking the prey in the hunt so as to better inform participants of the status of the game.

We did this by setting up a ball that would float above the head of the prey and change color as the game progresses.

A RED BALL above the prey's head signifies an inactive prey, one who has donned the Prey Mark (an attachment in the game that a prey needs to wear) but has not REGISTERED himself or herself as the designated prey

A YELLOW BALL above the prey's head signifies that the prey has registered herself as the designated prey. She can do this by simply touching the ball on her head. There can only be one designated prey per game.

A GREEN BALL above the prey's head signifies that the game has started and the prey is now  a legitimate target of the tranq gun- wielding hunters. Hunters who try to shoot the prey when she is not active will find that their gun does not respond to firing commands.

A final BLACK BALL above the prey's head signifies that this prey has been overcome and that the game is over. The name of the winner of the game (the one who scored the most hits) will be displayed as floating text above the black ball.

When this winner approaches the incapacitated prey, a leash will automatically form between the hunter and the prey which will allow the winner to drag the prey around.

At this point, we have decided not to include any other RLV to the game system.

Grand Canyon

I once visited the SL Grand Canyon awhile back...well, SL time, it was actually only last year, and did some skiing and was dutifully impressed. But I didn't know how large and cool the sim was until Tinka took me up on a balloon ride to survey the place.

A place to definitely visit in SL  especially with someone you care about.

Angel Hunt in Alanis?

Alanis Gallery has always been a favorite haunt of mine, not really for the excitement level at the place, but for the beautiful erotic artwork in the galleries. More recently, my Tinka girl became an Alanis Angel, so we both have some attachment to the place.

By chance the next product that we'll be rolling out is a Hunt system, which allows any landowner to suddenly host hunt parties for guests. No need to visit laggy sims, which are usually crawling with the dregs of SL.

The Hunt System, which is derived from one of the DM Tusk games, allows people to designate a Prey, with all the other participants being Hunters, and set a time limit for a Hunt, in which the Hunters use tranquilizer guns to try to score points off the fleeing Prey.

The system keeps tracks of the scores, and the Hunter who accumulates the most scores after the game gets to keep the prey. I might add RLV to the system such that the winning Hunter automatically gets to leash the fallen Prey.

As part of the rollout of the product, we became interested in gifting the product to Alanis Gallery and organizing Angel Hunts in the sim. Tinka and I are in the process of putting together a proposal for such a  Hunt, and I have spoken to Serena Mist of You're the One to help build a statue or similar object that is related to Angels to hold the DM Hunt system in Alanis. More updates hopefully are soon to come.
